Dorothy has the Itch it seems

I took the shot from in front

I took the following two shots from in front of the sliding doors to the bedroom and bath.

So Jesse’s putting on the oil
for the island to be rich
with color and longevity
But Dorothy’s got the itch.

She wants to get to going
for she’s heard the pad it through,
and soon she’ll get to see her new home,
Maybe, so will you.

She’ll have the trees to shade her,
The view to last her life,
the acres full of wild things
to watch both day and night.

She wants to go, to travel fast,
on down the highway fly,
to leave into adulthood
and to hold her family high.

Within her walls they’ll settle in,
relax and make a home,
With Dorothy to attend to them,
Until the day their gone.

Temple Tantra Spring

So I have snapped a shot
of my home sweet home
with the wildflowers showing
where they never have grown.

From my bedroom window
on the top right side,
I can look over my pillows
to the rising sun,
and see the flowers blooming
while the songs are sung.

The birds are thrilled to see the colors,
and the bugs they bring.
For this is Love returning
though some like to call it Spring.

It is alive once more for me
to Love each day amazed.
So thankful I’m in Texas
Am I dreaming or just dazed?

Alas I breath deep daily
as I meditate to start
Another day in Paradise,
and with a happy heart.

I will work again till midnight,
ever fueled by this reward
and the people that I meet each day
who appreciate my art.

In Temple Tantra I reside,
a simple place off grid inside.
Amongst the trees and there alone,
my dreams and vision I do hone.

Dorothy

Dorothy, Dorothy, with your shelves so grand,
will you have enough food
for emergencies on hand?

Rising up unto the ceiling
over 9′ tall,
Will your owners ever reach to where
you hold their goods on high?

Will they toss and let you catch,
in hopes you will return,
whatever they should ask for
when they’re cooking without burns?

Oh yes you have a ladder planned
to drop down from above?
Or is Darby making magic
with some porta-ladder Love?

I think indeed it would be cool,
To roll it from the loft,
with all the goods stored on its shelf
it still could move about.

Then back to being parked
so nicely close beside the bath,
That if you did not know it
You would really want to laugh.

“Jump and get it if you can,
Sugar, flour, Rice, and cans.
Please Now Dorothy listen up!
I can not climb so you must drop!”

The Tiny Texas Bath House sees another seminar

The Tiny Texas Bath House

This is a 14′ x 16′ structure made from a floor from a house brought to us whole.  Then we put a wrap around three sides porch that will have screens and windows for the bad weather times of mid summer and mid winter, otherwise we will have screens in the upper portion of the sink porches.

I think we did a seminar on this bath house nearly three years or more ago,

My how time flies.

This will be for the campers and seminar attendees who do not stay in the houses or the dorms when they are done.  We will have much more to offer as we grow.

Hope you get to come and stay for a short while so you to can take this knowledge home and share it with your friends so they too can build homes for free.

As we move forward with the development of the “How to Build a Village Out of Salvage” level of our examples of what can be done, I want to share with some of those who might be interested, what I hope to do next with a piece of relatively inhospitable property by many people’s opinion.  With proper work it can become an Oasis that proves the benefit of permaculture in salvaging the best the planet has to offer without taking anything else from her when ever possible.  I believe it is possible in many scenarios that others would prefer to regard as waste or trash.  Tiny Texas Houses has proven over and again that beautiful houses, built from the most beautiful of wood, doors, and windows, can be constructed from 99% Pure Salvaged building materials.  Next we want to show how to create a food jungle that people can live amidst with houses that are as organic as the food they grow around them.

We are starting with the “Ugly Duckling” Bootcamp followed by the “Raising the 2 Swans” Salvage Building Seminars.  If we can successfully film them and compile the DVDs, we hope to get this information out into everyones hands so that they can do the same thing where they live.  Each time we do this it demonstrates what the possibilities are when people come together to demonstrate what can be done rather than sit back and just gripe about all the things that are wrong with the world.  Here is your chance to get involved with making the world a better place, on house at a time.

This was the original Ugly Duckling that we planned to take down but the owners went invisible right before the event so we took down the Back up Ugly Duckling instead.  This was in a field with poor access and the weekend looked like rain, which it did turn into, so the second house worked out much better.  Yea for a Back up plan.

The next step is to show that we can use these parts and pieces to build villages and create examples of what permaculture can do for transforming our Texas dry seasons into to bountiful growing seasons for many of the foods we can survive on.    We are having the White Swan Seminars next to show what you can do with an Ugly Duckling once you take it all apart.  The firstWhite Swans  seminar got us to the framing stage and much of the detail on the windows, doors, and floors already taken care of in the first week.

This objective is finally near with enough windows and doors in stock, as well as tin roof, trim, and much more that it will take to build 100 houses over the next few years, all to stay within the borders of “Salvage, Texas”, our town built from the past.  I have the place to build them, the plans it will take, and many of the other parts and pieces for creating the public spaces and the SalvageFaire Market Place.  The Music Venues will be located in three different areas of the property that stretches over 43 acres with many water features and spaces to grow food and trees.

Even the kitchen will be built nearly completely from salvaged parts and pieces from houses we have taken down.

Here is the great wainscot from Buffalo NY down here in Texas.

We hope to scatter villages with as many as 12-15 houses each that will share an acre or two and be able to enjoy being part of the festivals, market days, and other possible venues that can share the property and help perpetuate the manifestation of a downsized more planet conscious society.  This rebuffs consumerism to a large degree while understanding the mechanisms behind it and the need to work within these constraints in order to fund ideas and further positive projects that help support a sustainable living lifestyle out of purely salvaged materials and American made products when ever possible.

For this to happen in other parts of the country as well as here, we are attempting to teach people who come to the seminars we are now scheduling.  If I can get the support and momentum, we will tackle a much bigger project next for a Salvage Bootcamp and thus generate 4-6 houses from the materials they will produce.  The idea is to complete a series of houses that will be similar to those the public may find and thus bring them to the realization that the opportunities are nearly all around us waiting to be recognized.   Those who see and understand this first will likely be the ones to find the best value and pricing on salvage rights.  The market is growing for the part you would not need for your house so you can make money off the sold off parts to buy the wire, screws, nails, and insulation you are best using new products for when you build a new house.  One thing leads to another as the chance to take down other houses comes from being seen taking the first one down and the publicity it will bring that others down the road will not.

We want to help grow the appreciation for the materials and help establish more Salvage Materials Markets that network with Holistic and Organic cultural perspectives that might help perpetuate the knowledge and culture necessary to survive off the grid.  From solar power, free energy, thermal, and biofuel, we plan to use the energy with a clear understanding of what it is costing and what it takes to produce all that we use within our boundaries.  If we can have musical festivals about cultural progress toward a less consumerism future, then it may serve as a proof of what can be done and thus inspire millions of others to copy it once they feel safe about their community supporting their efforts rather than fight such positive change.

The beginnings of the first village is born and from it shall the rest evolve.  Here are a few shots of the houses that will soon be available for night long visits.  Yes, overnight dream escapades outside the city in an Organic Tiny Texas Houses will soon be possible.

Through the salvaging of old buildings, houses, dilapidated structures, and barns, many rural towns, once industrial hubs, we have all the industry and materials we need to get our society moving toward a future that will benefit the 7 generations to come instead of leaving them with a devastated planet full of landfills holding the treasures of our past.  Please share this thought and help transform the world into a Pure Salvage Living example of what we can do for the children of the future and the planet that we love.

The Bluebonnets and the wildflowers are coming out to see

the Kidd they all had heard about and knew they’d someday meet.

Alas he has arrived in time to see his friends come out,

like him made from the cells that grew from sunshine all about.

The common minerals we all share,

the green that was his lustrous hair,

the Earth he drew into his veins,

when he was once a tree.

There is so little more to what I build for you to see,

except for wood that grew for centuries to finally be a tree.

It shaded all its friends below with Love that would protect,

and shelter them from storms and sun while it was growing big.

But long ago it was cut down,

the Kidd back then was tall and proud.

Then centuries within the walls,

no light to see, no soil to touch,

and finally let into the light,

to once more feel the day and night.

I leave exposed so many cells that form my houses true.

They feel the world and look so fine, and thus I can not see…

why would I paint such beauty that is natural and free?

Thus all I add is Walnut Oil, made from another tree,

and that protects the Kidd for all of you and best of all for me.

Thanks for sharing my amazement and the chance to see my cause.

HOPe you like the wildflowers.

Spring has sprung with much to see at Salvagefaire and TTT. (Tiny Texas Territories)

We are working on the kitchen and the rooms that go above.  The building that is Salvagefaire is changing with our Love.  New skins upon the inside, New bones within the wall, another skin for outside and a porch that runs about.  There is so much that will exist so soon you would not know unless you saw these pictures now, you’d know not how it grows.  Please enjoy the visions I have seen already here, and know they will be worth the trip to see when they are done.

SalvageFaire is getting its kitchen and meeting areas manifested as we watch.

This is a great set of images to light up your imagination about all of the great things that will happen once we have this space up and operational.

We are putting together a kitchen fit for cooking for our Friends.  Its completely build from salvage that we mix and match to blend.  From stainless steel doors and walls from bathrooms now long gone, and kitchen parts from houses that we salvaged and tore down, the product will include so much that most will be surprised, for it will not look like trash at all but cost much, so most surmise

The add on will be for the sink, fridges, and the outside service window for when events are going inside that need to remain private, outside guests will still get refreshments.
