Here Is A Great Example From The Monty Grand Victorian's Bathroom. Teak Above Adds To The Flavor.

Announcing the Seminar for our Classic Tiny Texas Houses showers

Yes, we are scheduling a seminar and will see once more who is talking about fulfilling their dreams and who is doing what it takes to make it happen. You will be able to come learn how to build a shower for a house, tiny or big, that will get the attention of anyone who comes to visit and it will last for a lifetime. Better yet, you will also be able to get a big discount on a package of the materials we will use to create the showers with

This is an example of one of the showers we have done in the past, Big Brother in this case, and shows you some of the features you will learn to create.

If you want to, you could go back and make a good living just from putting these showers into houses, but that is another story for those who are looking for a way to make money on the side, part time if one wishes, and have fun creating something that people will gush over when you are done.
So here is the final product I love to create and call a shower. Still not finished, but the walls are ready for trim.

From the beginning to end, I have staged several of the showers building them up to a point so that we can cover all the steps in one weekend. The issue is the drying time between stages, usually 12 hours for the mud to dry in the pan, 12 hours for the mastic to dry under the tile, stone, or granite. 12 hours for the grout to dry before sealing, and then working on the walls once that is done. Each of the stages can be taught that way and people will get a chance for some hands on experience with every phase if they want. The idea for this seminar is to introduce some people to the Pure Salvage Living Renaissance in a small dose that they can absorb and take home, put to use immediately, and even create an income from once you are done, and perhaps follow up with some more experience.

My favorite shower walls are durable and last for a lifetime, already 100 years old, these antique interlocking, overlapping roof shingles have stood the test of time and show the hail dents to prove it. If you would like to purchase these, they run about $3 each and cover nearly 3/4 of a square foot each. They are easy to install and can be removed to work on plumbing then be reinstalled, unlike tile.

We used some of the tons of broken tile to do this bathroom floor for fun. This was built a few years ago at the last seminar. A retired Marine composed this floor for us and she did a great job of it. Scrap tile can make a great floor too.

There will be a limited attendance due to the limited spaces in the baths. We have Tiny Texas Houses available to stay in for the event, though only 6 or 7 will be rentable we will also have camping spaces and RV spaces for the guests who prefer that to a hotel down the road. Food can be made in the common kitchen if you clean up after. We may be offering some meals as side options at a cost to be determined later. Bar-B-Que, fire pit, and induction plates in some of the houses offer other ways to eat besides the great Mexican restaurant we have locally for getting a meal at, as well as BBQ, and a cafe in town.

The Canoe trail on the San Marcos River is just a half mile away so you could even stay an extra day and just play if you like too. Palmetto Park is only 6 miles away and has many great hike and bike trails along the river too so there is more than just the seminar to come see. Likewise, for those interested in inventory, we will have a tour through the warehouses if the desire is there for some of the people who will get special discounts for purchases as part of the seminar ticket. 25% off can add up when you get parts and pieces for an Organic Cottage of any size.
