Forbes Magazine featured One of my Favorites, the “Cowboy Cabin” in a big article on posh tiny houses

Yes, the Cowboy Cabin made it into Forbes Magazine.

From its dirt poor beginnings as a house being torn down, several different houses in fact, was manifested a jewel box Art House built out of 95% Pure Salvaged Materials, built for living in full time, and portable on top of all that. In fact, this house started out named the Bastrop Ranch House and was lived in by a couple with a child for a couple years before they sold it to move to Mexico. That was the only house that anyone ever bought, lived in, and sold…. in that case for 15% more than it had cost two years before and within a week, for cash. It was then remodeled to change tub to shower and add some cabinets and the sitting nook off the bath. Then we moved it out to West Point, Texas where it sits on one of the prettiest sites anyone could ask for in Texas.

Many of you have seen this picture before as it is one of my Favorites known as the Cowboy Cabin

In fact, this is the house in the building plans that we offer in full 3-D that you can see the whole house come together step by step in the plans and learn how to build one yourself if you like. The original is 95% Pure Salvaged Materials, some over 100 years old, including the door hardware.

Here is the link to the Forbes article and the listing pictures are on the Zillow site if it is still available but just in case, I will add the link to the Photoblog we posted a while back on the Cowboy Cabin.

This is an amazing set of plans as it can be used on the free download of Sketch Up so you get a great 3-D program for free to open the plans up in and see it from lots of different angles. Mackey did a great job of showing how to use the program.
