I had a day, into the night, of working to finish Heaven, my Tiny Texas House that sits on the Blanco river after a miraculous delivery that easily could have cost me my life as the truck and trailer slid down the hill to within inches of me.
Heaven is only 11′ x 21′ but it seems huge inside, and actually bigger from the outside with the porches to add to its girth.
I thought much about my dear friend who once was the “love of my life” and will always be for that type of infatuation will never happen again if I am sane. Still, regardless of how it ended, she was still dear to me and her suicide made me think hard about canceling the Kickstarter for it touches on the reasons she did what she did out of hopelessness and despair. Many have asked me not to give up on the Kickstarter campaign or my vision for getting 30 sets of house plans and a large book showing how others can help in the salvation of the many homes our forefathers built that could become homes for those in need now. Toxin free houses sustainably built to be energy efficient is what our whole country, our world should be aiming to do at this stage as we now have all the proof we need to know that the modern homes are killing people, making them sick, and ruining the future for our children with autism as their brain development is destroyed by chemicals they inhale, like the health of the mothers with Lupus, fibromyalgia, and cancers running rampant. We can do better.
Earlier in the day, I learned as I arrived, my dear friend had separated spirit from body and moved on to the next life. It was an appropriate time to arrive and work on my version of a little Heaven on Earth made from the waste others would have thrown away.
Redemption comes in many forms.
For that reason, for those who suffer and need the hope, the possibility of reforming their lives, of salvation in this life through salvage mining, salvage building, and the many facets that will provide income, housing, and more resources than we have left in this country using no more than human energy. We can do this for them, I can continue to be the dart board and take the verbal hits by those who do not believe that I will put all the money that comes in from these plans and books into helping the homeless, the elderly, the handicapped, and disadvantaged so that the world can be a better place… not for my personal gain. I am going to keep this open, win or lose, and hope that others will share if they can not contribute, and spread the word that there is a way out of the hopelessness, a way to get houses, though perhaps tiny, that are toxin free, will last your lifetime and more, that respect the work of 12 year olds who hauled the coal from mines that made the glass. Once upon a time, only a century or so ago, children worked as well as their dad, 352 days a year. Now we have children in other countries work to get our stuff cheap. We can do better, respect the past, and build a future that will give all a chance to escape the hopelessness, the despair, and have a home.
If you can, please help me create the path that others might follow so that they may find their Heaven on Earth, before searching beyond this life, before taking their future away and leaving behind children, parents, and friends who love them, and I would hope, would have helped them if they had only known how desperate they had become.
Here is the link to the crowd funding site where 1,000 people contributing only $25 could open this door, and a few pledging more so that the world can share the riches of salvage, build homes for those that need them, and create a new path that forms houses without destroying the resources of our planet. If we do not respect our ancestors, the past 7 generations that strived to give us these gifts, what will be left for the next 7 generations except hopelessness, sickness, and strife. They, like those in need now, deserve better. Please help me help them.
