The Bullseye is a target we refer to when we are shooting arrow, guns, or darts. It is the target that we focus on when we need to test our accuracy, our focus, and our strengths.... or weakness as it may be. For me, the Forget Me Not Chapel has been used for many metaphors this last week or so, but it truly is a reminder of my son Adam who's birthday is but a couple weeks away, though he is no longer here, and reminds me daily of the work that I have yet to do for those who need help in this world in order to have a safe place to sleep, to hold their family out of the storm in the arms of Love, and to feel secure in the darkness.
SALVAGE, TEXAS an intended community designed to be a model for hundreds of others when it is completed, which will demonstrate that we can build self sustaining permaculture towns with 95% Pure Salvage and thus reduce the waste put into landfills, the imports used to build houses now, and the ability to create toxin free housing that will lead to healthy happy lives for all who choose this alternative lifestyle of minimalism over consumerism.
In a vision for our future I have found a path. It is not what most think that a new town would be in this day and age of McMansions but the opposite. It is designed on the basis of a minimalist life being much more rewarding than a consumerism driven existence.
I have alluded to the future and what we are planning to do here at Tiny Texas next but the specifics are developing based on the people who are willing to participate in this fascinating social experiment.
I plan to establish a town designed with the intention of being able to be online or go and stay far off grid.
I hope to do this utilizing the vast benefits of Permaculture to create a food jungle around the Tiny Texas Houses and the acreage that will form the model that I plan to put into a trust for use in training others so that we can replicate the concept and grow the Pure Salvage Living Renaissance where ever anyone wants it to happen.
This is the model for a Pure Salvage Outpost where people can gather, share resources, help teach and build, both healthy bodies and healthy homes.
It is a community resource bank that will provide life skills that are nearly lost to the newest generations that have been given no such skills in school.
A Simple alternative to the American Dream. Tiny Houses joined together into 1-2 acres villages that comprise a town all built out of salvage. In Texas, we only need 54 people
The building known as Salvagefaire will house the recording studio, restaurant, and have massive decks around it to support a music stage and plenty of seating for the guest at the events that we will hold here in the near future.
This is intended to be a community where we celebrate the freedom to create, to think free, to be free, and to grow in so many ways that are contrary to the popular TV myth of the American Dream that is supposed to make us happy.
If we were so happy then why is 25% of the nation on anti-depressants, 45% in the baby boomer category. We did some things terribly wrong in the last 50 years but I believe we can correct much of it by changing the way we live now.
Salvage, Texas is intended to be a model of how a community can have and on grid or off grid optional life and be as self sustaining as possible so that if the lights were to go out, we would go on without any significant setbacks.
Next are the many Tiny Texas Houses that already populate the first village of Salvage, Texas.
The Red Mascot was my first Tiny Texas House that I built and it still sits out front where it watches the passers by and has a 290 degree view of the beautiful Texas Sunrises and sunsets.
Here is a nice view of the main houses in place on the fence line with a view of the pastures, cows, and Salt Lake on the far side.
This is Helen’s Heaven which is very nearly done. It soon will join the others and then have a lot of fun. Momma will be moving in and then we will be whole, for once they are united, they will be their whole life long.
Next comes the fabled White Swan who began as ugly as could be. She started as a Bootcamp then became a brand new breed.
At only 10′ x 23′, Temple Tantra is one of the smaller Tiny Texas Houses but it is my home. I have found peace in there that no other house has ever given me. Without electric and water I still sleep better than I ever have before. Happiness is a Tiny Texas House.
There will be a large open market in the middle of the property where locally grown and organic food can be sold, salvaged materials, vintage clothes, and many other essentials that we can use rather than buy into importing more of everything we have too much of already. Do we really need more new clothes created by children being paid a dollar a day if they are lucky? This will be about how to make a new world out of all the treasures that we already have on hand rather than the new things we can create but require extracting more of Earth’s resources and creating more toxic waste in the process that takes far more energy than we should use to do it and transport the results across the oceans to sell. Add the cost of advertising, marketing, big box stores, and low wages to the price future generations will pay and you will find a reason for the financial disaster unfolding as our country goes broke.
In Texas we only need 54 people to claim this land as their residence to register to vote, and then vote to become an official incorporated town of Texas.
We can then set our own building codes, our own police force, and many other self determinations that will make life more free and less controlled by the federal government.
I truly believe there is another way to teach our people how to live a life of abundance and happiness without the McMansions and consumerism that offers the false belief that having more will make you happier or more respected by your peers. It is not for everyone, but these villages and Salvage, Texas are not here to repeat what you can see on TV, or experience in a suburb, but to show what can happen without one.
This is about creating a new plan with all things salvaged, American made, locally if possible, and marketed with the intent of showing the true cost to our society and health instead of the profits for big corporations who hand most of it over to their top executives WITHOUT RECOURSE FOR THEIR WRONGS TO SOCIETY AS THE MANAGERS OF THE BEHEMOTHS.
My objective is to show people how Tiny Texas Houses and then the villages and market can give all of us a chance to participate, support, and help teach the next generations to pay more respect to our environment, our planet, our people, than we have done for the last 100 years. I have seen that we can do more with what we have rather than taking more from the planet. I have living proof that we can create our homes, careers, and future out of salvage. Now I aim to prove we can build family compounds, villages, and even towns out of 99% Pure Salvage and American made goods. I do this with the conviction that others will be able to build from our example and though considered an experiment, the principles and concepts that have existed for years can be brought back to life and thus, with the creative energy that we all have within our reach, manifest a new millennium based on empowerment, simplicity, community, and a World Union of Believers in the Survival of the Planet and our Species. We can do it if we join together instead of stay at war. We can simplify and thus need less oil, gas, plastics, and all the resources that everyone is actually fighting over, and somehow come to hold the corporations that claim to be a Persona to the same standards as the rest of the Persons who are citizens of this country or the Planet. If the board can not do it, and they are the brain, then replace the brain and the corporations will come into line with the needs of the many over the few.
This experiment is intended to teach many how to escape the need for a drone job for their entire lives, and teach them how to take advantage of all the benefits of owning a business, just like the big corporations. Family businesses joined together through Pure Salvage Outposts that act as Co-ops and make available the benefits of belonging to a big corporation but without all of the negatives. The goal is to create community resource banks that will enable towns and cities to capture the treasure of their region and turn it into jobs, solutions, and a means outside the realm of the government and big corporations where you will have the freedom to succeed. As long as the businesses stay small they will skirt the big corporate rules that normally stop small businesses from growing once the establishment has control of an industry. The creation of this town will be that example that others will be able to use to join hands in support of a solution they can personally contribute to and benefit from as well. It is simply a matter of keeping the profits from the work and resources in the hands of the people that will be doing all of the work. Their health, wealth, and families all have to be considered if the community bank is to reinvest its profits properly, which means back into the community that created it, not to far lands, and distant stock holders or banks that normally absorb the lions share of the benefit.
What will be included:
The booths, spaces, and more permanent vendors will have a wide variety of goods, as well as the vast inventories of Tiny Texas Houses sister company, known as Tiny Texas Warehouses. That will include tens of thousands of square feet of inventory under roof such as doors, windows, trim, flooring, beaded wood and more.
Crafts, antiques, salvage of all sorts, vintage clothes, and much more will be targeted as the focus of the market.
Weekends will include concerts, events, and many other events such as car shows, motorcycle rally point, and
all the sorts of odd and eclectic vendor and event possibilities that can be created in our ideal location.
Those who live in Salvage Texas will be a part of all of it happening, as well as a beneficiary of the rewards that will come with it.
We are located 45 minutes from Austin, San Antonio, and on Interstate 10, exit 628, just and hour and a half outside of Houston.
So, if you wanted to get involved, What do You Do?
To have a house built and live here: Please get in touch through email and we will open up the conversation with more up to date details.
There are also questionnaires for possible future residents as it is a private membership, yes, you would need to be a Pure Salvage Living Member to live here, but for that matter even to come on the property for events. The membership fees will be changing soon to accommodate a few scenarios, including short term visits when people stay in one of the Tiny Texas Houses that will also be available for over night habitation soon. The first village is being set up and occupied now and we are talking with some of the first potential people about the limited spaces for those who will want to come and live here, be part of the experiment, and possibly find a future that you only thought existed in your dreams. We are looking for those special people who will see this as the path they have a passion for, not the money seekers, though the rewards will be many, our focus is on teaching others and passing forward the solutions that we can offer by lighting the passion in those who come and desire to leave with a rewarding and fun purpose that will last them the rest of their lives.
As an investment until you retire: why not try this:
First, there will be opportunities to invest in a Tiny Texas House that you could own,
have in the villages, and make a 9% monthly return on your investment by letting us
rent it out, maintain it, pay the taxes, and simply send you money every month.
That is 9 times the money you are making on 401K or other retirement investments in banks or CD’s
and you get the title to a hard asset that you don’t have to worry about the internet or the banks being open to access.
You will get to take the depreciation on the house and then we will either buy it back for the full price you paid, or
provide you with the entity to donate it to where you will get the write off greater than selling them to us,
and get limited use of the house for the rest of your life.
On the other hand, you may want to stay in it now and then, even move into it to live here later on, and those are also open options if you fit in with us well.
Then you could have a space in a village, live a simple life with little need for the coin of the realm, and be able to enjoy being with great people who want the world to be a better place and are willing to make it so with their actions and words instead of just complaining about the state of the world.
It will not change until we all change for we, the people, are what will fix this problem that we the people have created on our planet. Please consider joining us in creating an example of an alternative more people might want to consider now that we have proven that the Giant American Dream house is killing our culture.
Please consider joining us in spirit and investment if you can so that we can put together a model town that can be replicated across the country to bring new resources, careers, and opportunities for housing to the millions in our country who need it now, or will need to downsize soon and there is nothing out there for that now, so we need to get moving and this is a path that you can actually participate in and help manifest.
Thank you for your time, attention, and reading through this long blog on how you too could play a part in manifesting the Pure Salvage Living Renaissance to help bring solutions into the public view that will work without government or corporate co-operation or hopefully negative intervention.
