Salvaged Tombstones for a bridge

Yes it us true, Tombstone falls is composed of tombstones, some used, some not, all salvaged long ago and waiting for this day they would find a new home. They will be here for at least one human lifetime, if not a dozen.

Welcome to Tombstone Bridge and Falls.

Once more we break new ground to create a setting few will ever see again. Tombstone Falls will feed Envision Lake from the back side and provide a great diving board for the pool in the shade. This nice little niche is going to be for picnics and meditation escapes.
For those who do not know yet, I create new worlds out of what others once considered trash. Not just the houses, but the entire town will prove that it is possible to create beauty out of what others think is pure Ugly and of no value anymore. From the houses to the many other creations, I am out to prove that we do not need to build with new toxic materials that strip the world of its last resources and will leave the generations that follow in a polluted world that is nearly out of resources to survive comfortably. As the time has come to change, whether we want to or not, I am confident that this path will grow in popularity and eventually be the common practice rather than remaining import dependent for survival.

Yes, the possibilities are endless. In this case I happened to have had a stash of tombstones, yes… names, dates, and very authentic. Not sure why but years ago a monument maker died and when his property was sold for taxes, the new owner offered me up the tombstones laying around the shop. I asked how much, and since I had just purchased a new forklift the day before, the timing was perfect when he said it was for FREE. Then its for me.

Some stones were clearly once in place, perhaps repossessed, traded out when the new person joined the old one in the hole, or just mistakes. Regardless, they have come to a place where new life is possible for all things. Tis not mine to judge the morals of using these as they are only pieces of rock with a human touch, but still just stones that will form an incredible and long lasting part of the lake I have created from my imagination and determination. You too can do such things if you believe you can, and the parts and pieces will come to you, though it may take a while to figure out what to do with them. In this case, I had them for over 17 years before I found their purpose.

Yes, it is tombstones from the past, stacked up to keep the dirt back, and filter the water as it enters the pond from the acreage to the rear.

So what did we do with them and how big are they? Well take a look and see what you think. This is feeding into the back side of floating rock pond where I have created a shady swimming hole area with a water fall when the rain is pouring, and a bridge to cross over when the pond is full.

The stones are carved in some cases, just bases for the markers to set upon.

Here you can see the elevation difference and how the pond is pouring in to fill it. The hole dropped the lake height by nearly 6", likely over 100,000 gallons of new capacity so we are ready now for another 3 inches if it comes.

Thanks for visiting and exploring the world of the Pure Salvage Living Renaissance where I am attempting to prove what we can do with the many valuable parts and pieces of the past. This is one more example of how to use the materials that will save energy, because they are already manufactured, will save resources as they have already been extracted, saves human energy as well as the fuel it took to create these giant slabs of rock that were cut out of the Earth, polished, cut, and shipped to Texas. This is just one example of how to save more energy than it will take to heat and cool a house for 100 years. Please share the concept and help transform our society from a wasteful consumerism juggernaut that is destroying the world for the instant gratification we have become known world wide for, and at the expense of the rest of the world. Sooner or later the insanity of this must stop, and hopefully such alternatives as this will be one of the paths we take to build a better world for the 7 generations that will follow us and attempt to create a great life in spite of the mess we leave them with if we do not change course now.

If you would like to be a part of the solution, either by investing, coming to live in Salvage, Texas and help create this model of what is possible for others to come see, learn from, and hopefully spread the salvage mentality to the rest of our country too, then please contact us at Info@tinytexashouses.com. We may be selling a few acres in Salvage, Texas for others to invest in, possibly come to live on, and to attract other people who have awakened to the amazing energy they can tap to create solutions and a paradise in the midst of chaos. I hope some of you will join us in creating the model for those seeking an alternative to the modern toxic boxes we call homes, and the lifestyle that has led 45% of Americans to use anti-depressants to find some semblance of happiness. There is a better path.
