She Is Only 11' X 17' But She Is Big On Space And Color For A Tiny Girl Her Size.

Seminars and internships over June on Salvage Building…. maybe even a stipend position for a couple weeks.

including the delivery of the White Swan to Johnson City, Texas. This is a chance, perhaps one of the last till fall or winter to learn some of the facets of building with salvaged materials. We have showers to do, trim, window work, installing hinges, hardware, and creating a railing that will go above the porch on the Stargazing deck. This may be the last chance to learn how to salvage build as I will stop trying to offer seminars if the attendance is not better than in the past as I commit my weekends and evenings and the cost barely covers the help, tools, and time it takes to organize and do these events. I do not charge $450 more like the other builder seminars and apparently some may feel there is not much value, but those who come have left with a new view of the possibilities and some even go off to salvage houses and build their own from them. They are the ones who make this effort worth it. Perhaps you will be the ones this time.

Do you want to learn what it will take to manifest your dream of having an Organic Cottage like one of my Tiny Texas Houses? Well I have now stopped taking orders for anymore to sell to leave Salvage Texas so the only way you will get one is to learn how to tell someone to build it like I do, so coming out to learn will make you aware of what to look for if you are going to get someone to build it the way you want it, toxin free and designed to last your lifetime and longer.

We also be working on the Retreat for detailing, putting in a bathroom, shower, and trim, as well as creating fold up elements, like tables and more. For those who want to learn specialty tasks, this is a great chance to cover much of the finish up elements on a house. A big part of the seminar for one weekend can be porch building, shower floor construction, and detailing out windows, adding hinges, locks, and other finish up projects.

The Retreat is half finished and will be to teach the interior more than the basics of framing but will also have porches, exterior trim, and other things to do that you will need to do on any tiny house of this grand size.

If you would like to attend some days during the week or on Saturday afternoons, Sunday afternoons, or if there is enough interest, into the evenings on Wednesday if we have the people that might come for a midweek Wednesday tour and work, dinner and work / discuss till dark.

Guest houses available for those who might want to stay over or participate on a Thursday as well. If so, we will give a 25% discount off the already low Air B&B rates we offer.

This opportunity may last for three weekends with the possibility of having up to three weekday seminars if the interest is there. from the

Saturday Sunday afternoons and evenings on the (June 11-12th) and the Wednesday and Thursday (15-16th of June) of June possible for a weekday seminar if some prefer. (minimum of 5 participants required to commit)

Saturday & Sunday afternoons and evenings for lectures (June 18-19th) and the Wednesday and Thursday (22-23rd June) depending on interest.

If for some reason we can not deliver we will have the Saturday -Sunday ( June 25th and 26th) seminars… again afternoons… with the option to join in on the tour of the houses on site and lecture Saturday morning… then go to work in the afternoon after lunch.

Tuesday or Wednesday (June 28th and 29th) we should be ready to prep and move the house so we will have a seminar on how to fold up a house and put it on the trailer Monday and or Tuesday. This will cover positioning the trailer, strapping the house down and other parts of the process of preparing to go down the highway.

If all goes well, I plan on delivery on Wednesday June 29th or or Thursday June 30th, depending on the many scheduling issues. If the work is complete, the weather right, the truck schedule good, and all things in our favor, we may even let people come along with the move and set up of a house to learn how to do that too. May be the only chance we ever give for people to learn that part of the process.

Cost for the seminar will run $50 per day of attendance so that people can come to the days they have free and not commit to two days in a row, or more than one weekend. While we will supply water and perhaps some snacks, that does not include meals or lodging, just instruction, lectures, learning how to work with wood, paints, caulks, sandpaper, Tung and Walnut oils, window glazing, and painting with Milk Paints. Imagine all you could learn if you want to, but you will have to attend to do it.

We have some room for volunteers and some for the more experienced with some tools who can help teach others basics and even make a bit of money for participating, or barter for doors, windows, and flooring. The idea is to give some of those with some prior skills and tools a chance to come and help teach others what you have learned and how it will apply to salvage building. If interested, please contact me, Bwk@tinbytexashouses.com to share your credentials and what you can bring to see if you will be granted a free pass or even paid with some money or bartered parts for your help.

We have a bath house for those who want to come with an RV and or tent to stay for free on the property too. The B&B houses are available by reservation and the contact will be esales.psi@gmail.com.

Those interested in coming to this event will need to sign the Liability waivers agreeing to be responsible for your self while on site if you get hurt for ANY reason what so ever, fall in a pond and drown, have someone drop a hammer on your head, etc. If you have questions, please address them to BWK@tinytexashouses.com. We will be able to work with people individually so as to try to be sure everyone learns as much as possible about the areas of interest they may have in these phases of building an organic house from 95% Pure Salvage. While we won’t be building more houses to sell to the public, we will be selling all the parts and pieces it will take to build one like the many I have built to prove this can be done.

Thanks for your interest. If you want to call and talk in person, please leave a message if I can not get to the phone at 830-875-2500. If possible, please email questions first so I can have answers when you call or I call back. If you are one of the few with interest, an old timer with skills and some tools, or a younger person with tools and wanting more skills, this is your chance to show others and perhaps learn new things while meeting some great people to share your interest in Salvage Building with, if not someone to help when you are ready to build yours.
