The Red Log Cabin comes to life
As the form comes into what we see, the house is made with history.
Once upon a time it stood, then all came down as salvaged wood.
So now it all comes into view, the house I see and form for you.
I hope that others from this see, what old dead houses could one day be.
We got all of the logs for this from the Weatherford Salvage Bootcamp last year and finally get to put it together to create a new house for the collection at Salvage, Texas. Hope you like seeing it come together and thus learning how to do it if there comes the time for you to start building with free salvaged materials too.
You can see the rafters before we get the decking on.

Laura, Brian, Gilad, and me up in the house. So much help to be thankful for.
The interior loft floor is over 100 sf of living area with lots of light and air flow.
The curvilinear edge of the loft floor is a feature that is playful, not functional.

Gilad has done some very nice work on the edge of the flooring to give it a curvilinear feature to go along with the beam that does not cross the wall in the middle on both sides.
We got a great deal done in a week with only a few people a couple days but as much as 7 people for nearly a day, and 5 people for a couple days for half a day and then just two for a couple days. Since most are learning, it is slower than it will be for them the next time, but everyone seems to be having fun learning and no one is getting hurt… so we will continue to have these work/train days going for those approved to come and learn.
Thanks for following.
