We are going to open Manifestation Bay up for two (2) weekend building seminars, on June 13th and 14th, Saturday from 1pm-7pm, and Sunday 1pm-7pm… then, if all goes well, again on the weekend of the 27th and 28th. This is conditioned a bit by weather if there are major storms, check with us before coming. This is an RSVP Invitation so, if you wish to come to learn how to build the Tiny Texas Houses way, you must be a member of Puresalvageliving.com.
There will be 1 (One) weekend for Bootcamp participation, June 20-21, a Saturday and Sunday event again, in Shiner Texas. That link will lead you to the original photoblog. This means participating in helping tear down a house, salvage the materials, pack them and learn to use the tools, basic material identification and lots of education if you work in the right spot and listen when the discussions come up as many questions are asked and answered on every event. We are also taking down and incredible cistern at this location too so we may have both going on for this one weekend. Shiner is a project in progress that still involves several more buildings if we have the people, we may plan more with the chance for others to participate on them too, as well as get some of the materials in barter once people get certified to do certain jobs independently.
People will be able to stay here overnight, camping, RV’s, and Tiny Texas Houses will be available for options. The San Marcos River, with its canoe path is only a half mile away to the pick up point so you could even canoe the morning and learn/work the afternoon for a great get away, or only work one day if the river takes all you got in the morning. Regardless, there are also new hotels close by and
Our projects will be wiring the house, finishing the wrap, exterior metal and wood sidings, and then setting the windows into place.
There will be some instruction and hands on time with windows, prepping, cleaning, glazing, cutting glass, etc if it interests those in the group. If not, we will just get it done and not take up time teaching others how to do those things if they are not interested in that part.
The Tiny Texas Gypsy house will be the focus of this seminar for both weekends though the work to be done may change depending on how much we get done in between the seminars. Ideally, the second seminar will have insulation already in so we can put up the interior skins, trim out the windows and doors if they are ready, and start the detailing, adding cabinets (in this case all salvaged) and painting. That is an ambitious schedule but it is feasible if enough people show up to help or we set about working on it with paid labor and abandon the seminars if not enough people want to participate. Given the cost is the membership of $5 per month and that is all we are charging to be able to learn, the money is no excuse anymore. It should be it appears, as no one values what they do not have to pay for it seems in this society, and apparently, still, there are more excuses for not being able to do this than will to do it for those who talk about it but never follow through. This is the last season I will test this plan of teaching others skills they can live better with having, using, and sharing then nearly any one could develop, for you can still do all the other things you want to do in life too. This just facilitates it more easily as you will have a home, skill sets to support yourself, and a path to teach others that will allow them to be empowered as well.
If you do not know about Temple Tantra then here are some shots to give you an idea of how this beautiful house may look when it is done. While not identical, it is of the same style but bigger in width and girth, shorter in stature. Regardless, you will get to help build one of the most unique Gypsy Wagon style tiny houses in the world.
Seems like that would draw a crowd, get financial backers who want to see their money go to good causes, create change that we want to see. Sadly that has not been the case and this is likely to loose its last financial backer for seminars soon as I am the one who has paid for all of them so far. Somehow I thought that others would join in this endeavor to create an alternative for the kids under 45 years old who will inherit this mess of an economy and government my generation has allowed to manifest with our consumerism and unconstrained corporate socialism. If we do not find another path, the global corporations will soon run the whole world, just like the TPP (Trans Pacific Pacification Heh) treaty is attempting to bring about in another step.
So it goes, in the meantime, the public masses must have alternatives to being drones in the system being created. Simple living, growing some of your food, living organically, loving your family, pursuing your happiness without the need to buy everything you see on TV to be happy. If it worked well, 45% of America would not be on antidepressants. I think we can do better for our next generation.
Join me if you would like to be part of the Pure Salvage Living Renaissance where living toxin free, with the time to live, love, and create instead of chasing the American Dream of a giant house in suburbia where formaldehyde, vinyl, plastics, carpets, and sheetrock rule the day. There is another way, tiny, small or big enough, to do it out of salvaged materials created by our forefathers a century ago. Respect it, use it, and you will find it is the best path you could take to work our way back into a quality based society rather than cheaper, faster, and more toxic all the way to the dump.
