We have not created a set of stairs with this placement or design yet so it is a treat to give you a preview of how it is being built and how little space it consumes considering how much more space for storage it creates. I am also leaving enough space for a twin sized downstairs Murphy Bed on the wall next to the steps, if it were desired.
Placed in the corner this time to minimize the use of living and kitchen space.
The first part is for the one level of steps. The next will be for the half that is 8″ offset.
This shot with Michelle shows the size of the steps and the loft proportions.
Outside shot of the White Swan before I modify the front porch a bit more. May add a third post and will definitely be putting another crossbeam in so as to support a porch roof deck too.
Here you can see how much storage there will be hidden in the stairs.
A downstairs view of the closet up above.
Here are a few of the new shots of the closet upstairs too.
Closet view with a bit more angle.
A good view f the basic bones that are glued, screwed, and will still get some tiny supports under the legs on the wall to create a stair sturdy enough for the big old boys that seem to be so common these days.
