The Path To The Top Of Salvage Mountain Has Grown Dramatically Ands Looks Great With Ponds On Both Sides.

Wildflowers, Water, and Spring in Salvage, Texas

In spite of the chilly 48 degree nights, the days are gorgeous and the plant life is loving it.

Salvage, Texas has become my past time, planting seeds of new life all about to see what grows from the many mounds of dirt from ages past, dug up to bring the nutrients back into form, breathing, feeding us, and turning minerals into life and beauty. The excitement of the anticipation is wonderful. Sunflowers of several species, from the giants to the small will be growing all about by the end of summer, along with so many other beans, vines of cucumbers, pumpkins, and much more I am sure.

Talking to the land as it changes from a sandy desert into a lush permaculture landscape that will last for ages. Once started the seeds will keep growing in number and the critters that feed off them, the birds, and much more, including me, will be enjoying the fruits of sustainable living.

My goal is to create a village out of Salvage, as a model for what others could do if they choose. I have considered this with the thought of populating it with full time residents but that has changed. After sorting through the people who have expressed interest in coming, and seeing the logistical problems and that most wanted to be paid to come, to have a house supplied to live in, and could not necessarily survive unless we provided the means. I am not in a position to take on new dependents in order to create a society of people to live in the village, but my goal is to create the environment where people could come together and build such from salvage if they choose to make the sacrifice, do the work, and thus gain not only homes, but also a future, a career if they want, and possibly even a life long future of helping people and the planet into the new society we will need to create for the 72,000,000 baby boomers to survive in our present society.

My goal is to create the place to come visit, stay in one of our Organic Tiny Texas Houses for a night or two, perhaps even a week for a healthy retreat to detox from the city or people you need to escape from. Then you will be able to go back into the matrix knowing there is an alternative life style out there if you should ever seek to change. I do not intend or wish to follow through with trying to populate a village with permanent residents who come here to live like a subdivsion as I do not think that is near as easy to create as the structures and infrastructure it would take to support it. This might be such as a family would want for a compound type home or a group who might want to create a retirement community of this flavor. I have decided that attempting to create a village with the people who would want to come and live here is being left behind for a number of reasons, amongst them, the horrible murders of Christie, a new friend of ours and her husband, which was committed by someone they had bent over backwards and helped out in many ways. It is sad but an awakening of the awareness that there are truly crazy murdering people out there whom we do not wish to have join us and until we figure out a good way to separate the two types of people, we will simply bide our time and work on creating the model that others can build villages from if they choose to take this path of the “Pure Salvage Living Renaissance”.

The ponds are filled with millions of gallons of fresh water , though silted for the moment, the frogs are thriving, but not ready for fish yet. Still a bit more digging and prepping before the next step.

Here is a nice overview of the houses that you will be able to stay in over night if you wish. We are presently booking two of the 6 houses for overnight stays but will be using 4-6 by May. Access due to heavy rains is our biggest issue to get a handle on and we will be ready.

The rear canal is showing the abandoned oil pipe running down the middle that we are digging up and then we will leave the canal as a long pond that drains into Middle Pond via the pipe running under Salvage Mountain.
